Listening on the Coast: Conversations with Pacifica and Half Moon Bay Voters
Wednesday and today, Jotham met voters close to home, at the Pacifica and Half Moon Bay Farmers Markets. Both opened for the season earlier this month. Today, first under overcast skies, then in the drizzle, Jotham spoke with Coastsiders about their experiences and concerns. One Coastsider told Jotham she likes the incumbent because he visited the Coastside and seems like a nice person. “OK, this voter is not going to be voting for me,” Jotham thought to himself, but when Jotham explained that he’s running for Congress because the two party system is broken, the voter’s expression immediately changed. She agreed, offering that neither party is doing anything really. By the end of the conversation, both the voter and her husband said they will check out VoteStein.com and very possibly vote Stein on June 2nd.. Another voter stopped to talk about Independent candidates for Congress. He left saying Independents like you, Jotham, are great, and I’ll vote for you, but what our country really needs is a third party.
